Paddleboarding has seen a massive boom in popularity over the past few years. Whether you've bought yourself a board and want some tips on technique or are looking to learn a new skill/pick up a new hobby, our paddleboard skill sessions are for you! This paddleboard lesson will equip you with everything you need to confidently paddleboard and more!
We're stoked to be running paddleboarding from the Larkstone watersports centre at Ilfracombe harbour! The harbour provides the perfect shelter to learn and develop your paddleboarding skills while allowing us the opportunity to explore a bit further afield to neighbouring secluded beaches.
Experience and explore one of North Devon most popular working harbours from a new perspective, on a Stand Up Paddleboard AKA SUP.
You’ll paddle this beautiful coastline over to secluded coves. During our hour and a half skills sessions you'll learn how to paddle and manoeuvre your board; self-rescue and rescue others among other useful and impressive techniques that will make you a safe and capable paddler. If you've paddleboarded before we can also offer a few extra top tips on paddle technique and teach you some new and exciting turns. After a short lesson on the beach from one of our instructors, you'll head out on the water practicing your paddling with some more tuition and some fun games.
We love Stand Up Paddleboarding so much that, when we're not teaching, we're out exploring on them ourselves. As well as being a British SUP Association recognised school we're all SLSGB qualified and know our bit of coastline inside out.

All participants must be able to swim and be confident in the sea
How much does it cost?
Our 1.5 hour SUP skills session cost £37pp, this includes use of the paddleboard and all the safety gear required.
We also hire wetsuits for an additional £5pp (this can be paid for in advance or on the day). Please arrive 15min earlier if you require this option.
What do you need?
We’ll provide the SUP and all the kit. All you need to bring is:
Swimwear
A towel (to dry off after)
Change for the car park
A smile (we guarantee you’ll have one by the end, even if you don’t have one to start with!)
If you require a wetsuit, we hire them for £5pp (can be paid on the day)
Due to the nature of the environment this activity takes place in, you need to be able to swim and be water confident

There are plenty of carparks around the watersports centre, we suggest either parking in the harbour or at Larkstone Lane carpark.
