Double SUP Hire
Want (two) double up with a friend?
Then look no further than the Double + 1 Stand Up Paddleboard AKA the Double SUP.
You can fit 2 adults and a plus 1 on one board. Previous paddleboarding experience is always great to have before you hire out the board, along with water confidence, paddle strength and to be happy on the sea. Our friendly staff will give you an intro on the beach and then head out with you on the water to check you get the hang of it OK before we leave you to go off and explore the cove with your buddy or friends. It's a lot easier than you think...
We're so lucky to be based on an absolutely beautiful bit of the coast here in North Devon situated between Woolacombe and Ilfracombe. You can hop off and explore a secluded beach, and explore caves - you might even spot a dolphin or two, not to mention the odd seal. Taking out the Double SUP is awesome as it's all the fun of heading out on the stand up paddleboards with the added bonus that you can do it with a friend or family.
Minimum age for the Double SUP is 8 (however 2 ADULT paddlers are required)
All participants must be able to swim and be confident in the sea
What do you need?
We'll provide the paddleboarding equipment, so all you need to bring is:
- Swim wear
- A towel to dry off after
- Change for the carpark
- Trainers that can get wet (optional - the ground is quite rough though so this is a good idea espeically for young kids)
Due to the nature of the environment this activity takes place in, you must be able to swim and be water confident
How much does it cost?
To hire the Double SUP it is £70 for a 2 hour session including a lesson on how to use it.
Wetsuit hire is an additional £5pp (to be paid on the day). If you would like to hire wetsuits, please arrive 15 minutes before your session start time.
The board can comfortably fit either 2 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (minimum age 8yrs old).
Where are we?
Our most popular Stand Up Paddleboard locatiojn is at Lee Bay, Woolacombe. Its our most popular spot due to the little hidden coves to explore and in easy reach of the car park. EX348LR
Your adventure starts when your turn off the main road! If following the postcode, continue down the road after the 'destination' to the sea front where you'll find a free public carpark. If this car park is full there are more spaces in the village hall car park which is a 4min walk away. The village hall car park requires a donation for parking and is situated next to a lovely cafe, where you can get your after activity drinks and food from. Alternatively use the What3Words: notices.drizzly.boating Be prepared for driving down some propper Devon lanes! We're only a short 15-25 minute drive from popular holiday destinations like Croyde and Woolacombe
We used to run activities in Croyde, around the Baggy Point headland. It can be an amazing location for extreme sports, but is very tide and swell-dependent and due to the fact that we had to share the route with lots of other companies, we now use the picturesque route around Hele Bay, which is only a 25 minute drive from Croyde.
