Scouts & Adventure Groups
A taste of real adventure
If you’re looking to have a great time and get the most out of your troop with some unfortgettable activities, then you’ve come to the right place.
We always like to give a little extra to the Scout troops that come to us. Whether that’s taking a coastal life identification chart out with your coasteering session, lighting fires with a flint and steel after some paddleboarding, or playing games on our giant SUPs.
We have over 18 years of experience and knowledge in delivering adventurous activities. Our guides are highly responsible and have a great rapport with the groups that come on activities with us, so you can feel reassured that your troop is in safe, competent hands.
If you want a specific aim, goal or outcome, just let us know and we can work that into our activities. Or if you just want some fun, we can guarantee that!
What we can offer
We can offer discounts for some sessions, so get in touch.
North Devon Accommodation:
The Ocean Backpackers is a self catering hostel based down near Ilfracombe harbour, so is just a stones throw away from our Larkstone watersports centre location. It can host groups of up to 38 and also offer a separate self-catering apartment for smaller groups of up to 12. They have a kitchen, lounge and dining room area along with a variety of bedrooms. They offer a range of budget accommodation, from dormitories to family rooms, some with private shower rooms.
Schools, colleges, sports clubs and activity groups find them a convenient and comfortable base to go out and explore.
Collard Bridge is a scout campsite near Barnstaple. With toilets and showers, this is a great base for your scout camp. They also have a few land based activities that will compliment our watersports, making an unforgettable scout camp.
Wild Camping
We have 10 acres of beautiful private woodland at the foot of the quantocks. It's an idea spot for troops wanting to camp with a little more adventure and to get away from the business and screens of everyday life.
This gorgeous spot is a great place for campfires, navigation games, bivouac-building, not to mention classic games like Capture the Flag and Spotlight.
Facilities are the good old basics:
- Covered group meeting area
- Camp kitchen
- Compost loos
- Parking area
The woods are situated just off the Exmoor National Park, a short 1hr drive from the water sports activity venue.
Troops usually like to spend a full day down at our water sports activity venue, enjoying any number of activities then maybe heading to one of the nearby beaches. If your troop’s a large one then you may prefer that some stay back at camp while the others come and do water sports activities then vice versa on following days.
We are always happy to help with tailoring your programme and advising on logistics. So get in touch to chat through options and to book your troop on their best adventure camp ever!
